Fusing his love for the first wave of trap, moombahton, neurohop and more with boundary-breaking sound design, Runnit is a standout electronic producer with a strong technical background and innovative creative mindset.

It’s no surprise he finds himself at the intersection of multiple subgenres, having childhood roots dancing to salsa music, learning guitar and playing with scratch-records with his neighborhood friends. Despite the intricate and “in-your-face” production that Nicholas Noel pioneers, he himself is an introverted extrovert, towing the line between feeding off of other’s energy and finding himself spending hours in front of his computer saucing up new tunes.

The auditory experience one can expect from a Runnit track can be characterized by outlandish percussion samples and trap drums, chopped & screwed vocals, and sound design that attempts to have a conversation with the listener.

Nick’s recent music journey begins in 2011 with his introduction to the Baltimore rave scene and the beginning of his love for neurohop and electronic trap music. He went on to dabble in production and became the college bar mainstay for a few years until he graduated in 2014. Post-graduation, he stayed in the Baltimore area and continued to produce trap and hybrid bass music under his given name, working with other producers and rappers alike. His big “break” came with the feature of his track on a Diplo & Friends Mix and World of Dance music video that brought his sound to the forefront in a way like never before. In late 2017, he officially started the “Runnit” project with his friend Max and released their first single “You’re Not The Only One” with Hybrid Trap.

Following this, the path has seemingly been paved for him. He met Gurf and collaborated on “Hillz,” which would land on More Creativity Records. This partnership and desire to do more for the music community led them both to creating Partica Artist Group in 2018 and since then they have curated releases, small events and built a community around trap music that is continuing to blossom and evolve.

Runnit champions atmospheres where taking production risks are celebrated and encouraged, and has infused this into the mission of Partica. In 2020, he released a number of singles with notable labels like Subsidia Records & Wakaan, and this year has credits from labels like Quality Goods Records and Bassrush. Representing for Trap and it’s thriving communities, Runnit also found himself playing Elements Festival ‘21 & the Subsidia Stage at Lost Lands ‘21 and knows this is just the beginning.

Currently, Runnit is bringing together his sound in a big way through finalizing his upcoming debut EP, and hopes to keep pushing the boundaries of sound design while maintaining the “danceable” element of electronic music. He looks forward to reconnecting with old and new fans alike in live settings as we move into 2022, and cannot wait to continue to innovate and push out music that defies subgenres.
